Member Posts: 1195 Location: Orland Park, IL | Am about to get a new st croix legend. Was all set on the 63, but after going to the website, found the 66 and 68. I will be using primarily for Vertical jiggin (taking a place along the 59 avids, and 60 Techna AV). But maybe dual purpose should be a consideration. I know the 63 is a smokin vertical jig rod, but what will I be givin up if I use the 66 or 68 for vertical jiggin? TWS63MXF / VERTICAL JIG Our most popular jigging rod. It features a light tip with plenty of backbone for vertical jigging at various water depths. TWS66MLF / JIG-N-RIG Our number one multi-purpose walleye rod. This can't-miss model is great for jigs, rigs and crankbaits. TWS68MXF / River jig We recommend this rod for river anglers. The extra length is ideal for line and lure control in current.

Member Posts: 625 Location: LaCrosse, WI | Mark, I have two of the 69MLXF's and they're awesome. I use the MLXF because I run braided line, otherwise I'd use 68MXF's. I have both the Avid and the Mojo and both are very good. I do a little bit of everything with the 69MLXF's. I use them for pitching blade baits, jigs, vertical jigging, and for wing dam fishing all summer. The one thing I don't use them for very often is casting big cranks like (6A Bombers), those are a bit much for the MLXF. With this rod I can feel every vibration of a blade or spoon cast 30 yards away. Come on up to LaCrosse, and I'll let you try them out on the Mississippi. The legend in the 69MLXF is a sweet rig. I coupled my Avid up with a Pflueger President, and it feels awesome. The Legend seems to work better with a Pflueger Supreme, it feels like you're holding a feather. Hey Mark- You have a high front end on your boat. Go with the longer rods. I had all 6`-3 and switched or converted to 6- 9". Also a lot easier to get over top of windshield when trying to get to net in back of boat when fishing lonesome. I prefer the MLXF for jigging and pitching but use the MXF for dragging or when I need heavy stuff. Unfortuneately no one rod does it all. Good luck on your no venture. Tom Cooney
