Just beacause there may be some in there doesn't mean they shouldn't try to slow/stop more from getting in.

Kind of like if your girlfriend is ugly: she shouldn't stop wearing make-up...that'd only make the problem worse.

We have been sreaming about this for years. The truth of the matter is that the electric barriers has been off more than it has been on until this spring. They shut them off everytime a barge or boat came thru because they they were not sure if it would cause a spark and blow something up. Plus we have had 3- 100 yr floods in recient years and the fish could just swim around it. Its just another case where big money calls the shots. Nobody will know for sure how many fish have gone thru already. Its just another case of foot dragging and big dollars. Its like closeing the barn door after the horse got out. Dont quote me but I have heard that 80% of the bio mass of the IL river is asians/silvers. You cant tell me that none got thru with no protection. The only way to not let more thru is to seal off the waterway. As with anything that will take years.
