Location: LaCrosse, WI | It went pretty well. We had about 10 people show up with another 5 or 6 either calling or emailing saying they couldn't make it that night. I’ve had a few others contact me since the meeting saying they were interested. So far I’ve talked to about 20 people who are interested in joining the club.
We're talking about one meeting a month. Some small club tourneys. Some of the guys that came thought it would be nice to draw for partners for the events. We talked about most being on the river with a few others each year as traveling events, like Pepin, Winnebago, Petenwell, Green Bay or anywhere else members want to go (mostly as a way to go to these places with someone to split expenses with).
We'd maybe do some club outings just for fun. I have some guest speakers lined up. We talked about maybe doing special stuff on some meeting nights like a tackle craft night (jigs, blade baits, crawler harnesses, tattle flags for boards etc...) Lots of possibilities.
We had someone bring up a digital imaging format for club weigh-ins. This is a possibility if the club votes for it. We’ll procure some memory cards to house tournament pictures on, and I already created a computer based weigh in program to convert lengths to a standardized weight much like AIM is doing.
I started working on the club web site, and am filling out all the paperwork to become an official non-profit organization. We’ll be setting up the club financial accounts this week, so they’ll be ready by the next meeting. Our next meeting is set for Weds February 3rd at Sloopys on the north side at 7pm.
I sent out a newsletter to about 20 people, and will continue to do so each month. Anybody interested in the club should email me at [email protected] to get your email address on the mailing list.
Thank You,
