| I was at Little Sturgeon, Rileys, Sand, and Sturgeon Bay this last Saturday. Fished from dark until 10 at Little Sturgeon Bay. 10-14 inches of ice depending how close you get to the big bay. That was a zoo of people there. Nothing hitting the baits. Riley Bay doesn't have enough ice to drive on with a truck but so so with 4 wheelers and snowmobiles. A local guy broke through the ice in Riley Bay this last week. Sand Bay didn't have anyone on it for the lack of safe ice. I mean zero people and vehicles. At Sturgeon Bay I fished from 2 to after dark in 10-12' of water with 12" of ice. You can drive a 4 wheeler and snow mobile out there, but its 5 mph from all the jagged ice they have to dodge around. Looked like the national geographic arctic ice there, not to forget all the cracks and heaves. I walked out about a 100 yards. Zero fish. Marked nothing on the locator. Sorry about the lack of Walleyes to report about and the scary ice conditions, but I did hear from some locals that the Whitefish were biting better than all the other species. You have to get out by the points and structure to get them. Looked like a zoo out there too. Also, not sure how the ice is out there, but snowmobiles and 4 wheelers were in that area.
