| Perch are biting very well on crawlers and bugs in shallow water...I thought with lack of clouds fish would be deeper, but all fish caught in less than 8 feet of water high noon with full sun. FLY |

Location: Menasha, WI | Late Sunday afternoon: The bigger perch were hanging off the reef edge in 12.5' where I was fishing. Had the best action just drifting and dragging a jig on the bottom. Lots of small ones shallow and lots of little smallies too. Oh, and it wouldn't be a day on Bago w/o a dozen sheephead. Water is starting to clear up and the temp was still 64 degrees. |

| I've been out twice in the last week chaseing perch, lots of fish to be caught, you'll have to sort through 'em to get the better fish. Split shot, a hook, and a piece of crawler seems to be getting plenty of action. I would think minnows should get better with the next cold snap/dropping water temps. |

Location: Freedom, WI | The fish are still being caught in the group off of Merritt St., however, they are getting tougher to stay on top of! I would think truck travel will be done in the next day or two if we get any substantial rain today, be carefull out there! The fishing should only get better with the deteriorating ice conditions, but no fish is worth your life so use extreme caution out there this time of the year and always bring a buddy! |

Location: Menasha, WI | First time out on the big lake this season from 10am-2:30pm. Drifted and slip-bobbered reefs -- nothing, not even a sheep head. It was glass most of the day -- I wish I would have put my trolling gear in the boat. Water is really dirty. Surface temp was 56 degrees at 10 and up to 64 by 2. |

Location: Oshkosh, WI | I was going to slip bobber and troll on the lake tomorrow, but now you have me wondering. I wonder if places closer to the river, e.g. stoney pt, roe's pt would be better slip bobbing now.

Location: Oshkosh, WI | With the strong wind I decided to anchor on my secret spot (Sunset Point). Leeches. Moved a couple of times to hit the vein of where they seemed to be traveling, which changes with the wind. Got 9 eaters threw back 10th, then pulled flies in the river, 1 WB. Can we get a weekend with stable weather? |

Location: Manawa Wiscowsin | The water is still high but dropping in the Wolf. With the high water and plenty of food in the river there are still plenty of eyes being caught in the New London area, that is if you can keep the white bass from hogging your bait. According to what my Dad and Grandpa told me years ago, it's probably a bit to early for good fishing on the west side reefs, but the upriver lakes should start getting hot.
P.S. Frost the next couple of nights!

Location: Menasha, WI | The slip/leech bite has been pretty good all over the system. I did well on BDM last week and good on Bago tonight. Bigger, chunkier fish on the big lake. Haven't put a board in the water yet...soon??? |

Location: Manawa Wiscowsin | Memorial Day is usually my first outing to try trolling on Butte Des Morts, Winneconnie or Poygan. I would stick to the slip bobbers or jig leach combos on the west side reefs for a few more weeks on Winnebago. However you might have some luck trolling in 8 to 10 feet of water near the reefs this early in the season. |

Location: Manawa Wiscowsin | Memorial Day trolling the upriver lakes was very slow with the clear sky and calm conditions. We boated a couple of big cats on Butte Des Morts and some friends or ours did likewise on Poygan and Winneconne. The eyes started to turn on after the wind finally began to blow but it was too late for us. We had to be in by 2:00pm.
P.S. Mike sorry about your loss but think of it this way; A million years from now some archeologist will dig up a Blackberry from an ancient lake bed and start all kinds of stories about alien visitation... Just think about the secret government programs!

Location: Manawa Wiscowsin | P.P.S. Memorial Day: One cat came on a Shad Rap. The rest of our fish came on Mirrolures. Not one bite on a Flicker Shad. Our friends reported the purple "viking" color baits were the best color. Our best color was a fluorescent lime green. |
