Location: Rhinelander | The bite has been extremely tough due to the high water on the Mississippi out of Prarie du Chien, but stabilizing conditions and falling water seems to have picked things up...especially today.
Stack and Dahl brought in 21.09 to take a 6 pound plus lead into day two. Gary White and David Siegele hold second with 14.96, just one good fish behind Stack and Dahl. In third with 13.24 are Candle and Noble. Fourth is Clemmons and Hausler with 10.36, and rounding out the top five is Freidig and DeVier with 9.06.
The rest of the top ten:
Jeff Manz; Greg Yarbrough
Dennis Lantzy; Steve Vande Mark
Wayne Butz; Don Frederick
Dan Zwick; Tony Kobriger
Nate Capton; Dave Waldeck
The weather looks stable for the rest of the event, as cool temps and clear skies dominate through Saturday. Highs will be 60's, and lows 40'2 through the rest of the event. As the water continues to fall, the Team predicted the bite will pick up dramatically.
