Ready to book a cottage up north for the family. Anyone have any recommendations?

I've stayed at all different resorts on Lac Vieux Desert over the last 32 years, been going there since I was 2. I can suggest some places depending on what you are looking for, also options for private cottages as well. Great multi-species lake with pretty much anything that swims in WI in it.

Thanks for the input. The ideal place would have cabin close to the water with a dock (so I can get up early and get fishing quickly), good swimming beach (pretty much a must for the kids). My three kids are 7 months to seven years old. Probably not looking for a private place. I am familiar with LVD and would definitely consider it if you can recommend a place. I'm not too fussy on location, would ideally like a decent crappie lake/flowage, but I'm pretty open to just about anything. It's hard to search online, because many (most) of the places don't have websites.

For LVD, Wind Drift Resort would be the place I would suggest. There are others that are kid friendly, but if you are like me, you want that, but also some quiet and some serious fishing. This place has it all, like I said, I've been on LVD for 30 years and have stayed about everywhere, but this one is the best when taking everything into consideration. I'd be happy to chat further if you have questions. Just shoot me a private note.

I grew up on Big St. germain and lake content is a great spring crappie lake, but it is mucky and weed choked later in the season. I live in Land'O lakes now and would recommend LVD or Palmer and Tender foot for a quiet family vacation.

Thanks guys. I actually had lake content on my short list already. Wind Drift was pretty booked up,but I was able to find a nice looking place on the Moen Chain near Rhinelander that had an opening for us.

If you are interested into looking at Lake Content my father-in-law owns the resort. It has nice cabins and we just built a new condo on one of the old cabins that he is renting out also. What is nice about St. Germain is you can take the kids out pan fishing on Lake content all day then slide out to Big St. for walleye and northern or what ever else you want otherwise load up the boat and hit any lake near by. What is also nice about it you are not far from Eagle River or Minoqua for golfing or shopping.
