Member Posts: 921 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Fished the Sheboygan Walleye Club tourney out of Pipe Sunday. The best part was I fished it with my 8 yr old son Kyle. Although I didn't put him on many walleye and we only caught one to weigh, he caught several fish to keep him busy and wanting more. I kept telling him how I wish we could've caught more walleye and he said not to worry because the most important part was fishing with me and having fun. What a trooper. Looking forward to many more days like that with him and his 10 yr old brother. Had to share this. If you have kids, please take them out for the day. It's a blast. Maybe he already knew or could tell how grateful both my brother and I were to him without actually stating so. Oh, a little later on in life before dads early death, I had the chance to tell him several times just how much I loved and appreciated all he did and sacrificed for us. But I find it so very cool (and in these changed times) that your son both recognizes, appreciates and expresses his love to you right now at his young age. You have a very fine boy there. Member Posts: 921 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Yup GW! He always outfishes me. What was funny was the fact that I had all the usual baits in the water for walleye and not one of them worked. He throws out a Syclops orange and gold spoon with a plain trebble that he got me for Father's day 40 ft back and catches the only walleye of the day. Just goes to show you that sometimes you have to go outside the nine dots. | ||
