Member Posts: 34 | Babe Ruth called home runs, Chase Parsons called his victory at Oahe before he ever got here. He was due and he knew it was his time. Team The Next Bite showed up! Period. With the field narrowed down to the top 10 anglers of this event on the final day, it was stacked with some of the very best anglers in the business. "I knew with the quality fish I boated during practice that I was definitely in contention to win this thing," an elated Chase Parsons stated. "But, also knowing that my dad, Gary, Keith, and Tom Kemos would not just give it to me. We are all teammates, we travel together, we are great friends, and most of all we are family; but we are still competitors. We all would have loved to see the other win, so to have the top three spots swept by our team is the real victory." Parsons brought in a day three weight of 18-5 for a three day total of 58 pounds even. Keith Kavajecz beat teammate, Tom Kemos by a mere two ounces with a day three weight of 15-6 and a three day total of 54-2. Tom Kemos rounded out the top 3 with a day three total of 19-2 (the largest bag of the day) and a three day total of 54 pounds. The specific presentation that these guys were employing is still under wraps as they are looking to produce an episode of The Next Bite TV based around the success they experienced this week. Regardless, it worked for all of them and The Next Bite Team stole the show. “This was simply the very best tournament day I have ever been blessed to experience,” Gary Parsons says. “And, I wasn't even on stage. I could not be prouder of my son. I have dreamt about his inevitable success since the first time he stepped foot in my boat. Every good father only wants the best for his children and to stand here with him and share the joy of Chase taking home his first major professional victory means more to me than any trophy ever will.” “I owe my entire career to my dad and Uncle Keith,” Chase Parsons continues. “Had they not invested in me at a young age I would probably be still trying to play golf somewhere. I am very fortunate to be living this dream and I hope that one day I can be in the same position as my father is today as I watch my son achieve his dreams. There is nothing like it…” With the FLW Walleye Tour regular season in the books, The Next Bite crew looks forward to Bismarck, North Dakota where they will be competing in the FLW Championship on the Missouri River. Look for them to have yet another dominating presence. Not to be overshadowed is Tom Keenan who was officially crowned as the 2011 FLW Walleye Tour Angler Of the Year. “As professional anglers, we invest so much time, money and effort that any time we are victorious it means the world. If not for the support of my amazing wife and family, I wouldn’t be here accepting this award here today. To not only take home a $10,000 check for AOY, I also claimed 5th place at this event, to say I am happy and satisfied with my season would be a huge understatement. Bismarck, here I come!” This has been a very intense season of walleye fishing and there were some major shootouts that took place. As in most competitions involving the best of the best, the cream will usually rise. With names like Parsons, Kavajecz, Kemos, Skarlis and Keenan, this event was NO exception. 1st - Chase Parsons with 58 2nd - Keith Kavajecz with 54-2 3rd - Tom Kemos with 54 4th - Tommy Skarlis with 52-3 5th - Tom Keenan with 49-8 & 2011 FLW AOY Thank you for following along with OutdoorsFIRST this season and we will see you in Bismarck in a few weeks for the 2011 FLW Championship.
