Consistency. That's what wins more fishing tournaments than any one particular tactic. EverStart Pro, Dan Stier took home First Place Honors and a $70,000 check plus contingencies. He was quiet all week, managed to weigh 21-04 on Day One, 15-07 on Day Two, 13-11 on Day Three and 18-14 with four fish for a four day total of 69-04.

"This spring I lost my father and grandmother and the competitive walleye season was one of the last things on my mind," says 2011 FLW Walleye Tour Champion, Dan Stier. "My wife has been a constant support and to be able to bring home this trophy means more to me than any fishing accomplishment I have ever attained. This is for my dad, grandmother, and wife!"

The overall bite today was very tough, very few of the top 10 anglers even weighed a limit. Tommy Skarlis, a strong favorite to win the championship only brought in one keeper. The weather and fishing pressure are sure to blame, but it certainly challenged some of walleye fishing's finest.
