there was this incredible bite yesterday. i took a guy along that has never fished the river.i trolled leadcore and ways along the channel breaks.it seemed like i was dragging a fish all day long.i let matt reel in all the fish.we put 19 fish over the 15 inch limit in the boat.we caught four fish that were in the four-five lb. class. Matt got to catch his first gar never measured it but i guess it was around 40inchs. Matt couldnt thank me enough for taking him and giving him his best day walleye fishing ever. he had this giant smile on his face. plus it cost him a giant t-bone at the angus resturant in prairie du chien.

Larry, what speed are you running while trolling. I'm on pool 14. Water temps in the high 30's to low 40's, and I have not been able to connect trolling leadcore. I was running 2.0-2.5mph. Probably too fast I'm guessing. Caught fish in the same area drifting the break vertical jigging, but was hoping to cover more area by trolling. Thanks,
John

Rooster, welcome to this website. how did you hear about WalleyeFirst? . leadcore is very speed dependent . 1-2 mph is what i run to see what the fish want. sometimes i may go faster, this usually is when the depth gets shallower. then i slow back down as i turn out to deeper water.

Man it sure was a fun day on saturday on pool 9. Larry was pulling fish up left and right on leadcore and I was pulling them up on 3 ways. I also had a rookie to the river in the boat and he had a blast. Brings back memories of trout pond fishing. OOOOHHHH by the way,,,we only caught 1 fish jigging. 36 deg water shows it`s never to cold to pull cranks. People on the river thought we were nuts with out kickers down untill we smoked them. Cool day. John

What do you have in mind Larry?

And I don't know how long it takes, but did tell them wasn't planning on using it until March, so guess my big mouth relegated my boat to the back of the building. No big deal (come to think of it, thats free storage isn't it?).
