Chat room, does anyone ever go to it? I see many names on here daily, no one is ever in the chat. I keep checking.

So, do you go?

I've used it when someone like Shep notices that I'm on-line and hollers to get in there. I also check to see if anyone is using it. If I saw people there I'd enter.

Staker.

I'd like to see somebody volunteer to maybe set times to meet or subjects to discuss, but know running one of these web sites cannot be as easy at it may seem. Even the chat room on the bigger boards sometimes sets idle for days. I'm sure you'll always be welcome to ask virtually any fishing or related questions here though.

Gosh Dan, thanks for your response, but I did not ask that the directors of the website to set a schedule for people to enter the chatroom. Just wondered if anyone ever did but me. I have been around since the skeeter times when it was winnebago walleyes so I understand that I can ask almost anything and get a good answer on the board, Thanks.

Staker.

Didn't mean to sound condisending to your very valid question if I did. And I bow to your seniority on this board, as it does mean something to me and always will. I truly would like to see what I mentioned happen. And only brought up the posting remidy to remind anybody that even though not one on one, it's the next best thing.

Not lately. Its always empty and I'm sick of going through the process of getting there and finding no one. Maybe you should try the "other" walleye site around 7pm. There is normally a half dozen people on at that time.

I always check in, but rarely is anybody there. I know on the Muskie side, there is a lot of activity in the evenings. Best thing to do is post if you're going to be there, and keep a consistant time, say 7:00 PM CST, or what ever works for you. MF also has a deal on the bottom of the "View Forums" page that tells you who is in the chat room. Perhaps the Zachman could add this feature? Then you don't have to actually log in to chat.

During the offseason, MF has a pretty extensive schedule of chat guests, from guides to Manufacturer reps. Ususally last for an hour or 2. Requires a moderator to be in, so Sunshine stays docile.

Perhaps Walleye Express would like to be No. 1 guest to get things rolling? Saginaw Bay has always facinated me, and I'd like to learn some more about it. Perhaps even take a day there, if I get out to St Clair next year.

We have had over 100 people in the MuskieFIRST chatroom at one time on many occasions for organized chats and auctions, and there are people there nightly. I will add the feature to the bottom of this board which tells you who and how many people are in the chat room, maybe that will fire it up a little. We have not yet taken the step to line up chat guests on WF. But I CAN guarantee you that when we do, it will be done right and we will put 100% effort into it.

Thanks,

Zach

OK, look at the bottom of this page

http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/board/category-view.asp

You will always see a current count and listing of who's in the chat room. I can only pull the total user count from all rooms, so if you see that there are 3 people in there but after that is says ERROR: Room empty, then those users are in the Muskie Room. If they are in the walleye room the users name will be listed after the count.

I check in myself, but rarely see any one there. Like others have suggested a chat schedule would be a good idea. We have a number of guides and pro fishermen here and they would be helpful for different locations.

You volunteering Bob?

I sure would like to learn more about the Detroit River walleye and hear more about your musky escapades.

I haven't seen anyon there for quite some time, Weekends are a killer. I usually check in around 7 and find more people over at WC at that time,, What can we do to get more interaction there? Maybe have Brett Favre in?
Good Luck

Just an idea based on some experience from an experienced chatman......

When you want to go in the chat room, put a post here, and give about 15 min to 1/2 hour (or longer) notice. Anyone can post and anyone can pop in to chat, kinda like a bunch of anglers in a fishing club getting together to talk about whatever.

I guarantee that in little time a core of regulars will begin to show up and lots of things can be discussed and learned.

Weekly guests and scheduled chats can cause burn out in no time and take a good deal of time and effort to do right. Special event type chats, those done a few times a year are much more a focal point and much more fun to attend.

But keeping the chat site focused on being a fun and entertaining as well as informative place is done by all those who would pop in to say hi. And anyone can do that by just making an effort.
