Location: Rhinelander | 130 MWC Teams left the dock at 7 PM at Barto's Landing in Spring Valley. The bite has been as cold as the temperatures the last few days according to the Team WalleyeFIRST talked to this morning. Prefish was going well until the cold front moved in and shut down the bite completely. Most of the Teams reported no fish at all yesterday, but with a front moving in for tomorrow, the bite may pick up. The standard for this event in the past is usually handlinng and jigging, and that appears to be holding true for this year. The last flight is due in at 4 PM. Watch for weigh in coverage to begin this evening, brought to you by Lund Boats, Mercury Outboards, and MW Marine! Location: Rhinelander | The bite was indeed very tough with only a couple limits coming to the stage. A 4 fish weight of 8 pounds even for Derek Boeger and Ron Demus holds the lead by three ounces over Ryan Vecchia and Bill Elliot. Clayton Freiburger and Mike Bisdorf hold third with 7 pounds 2 ounces. In fourth are Hoster and Hoster with 7-1, and fifth are Kleszwk and Zurawski with 5-10. There were a number of zeros. 4 pounds 5 is 10th place. Big fish was 3-6 by Warriner and Means. Leader Board: http://masterswalleyecircuit.com/tournaments/results/ The big news complicating the already tough bite is the snow storm that has a bead on the Illinois River tonight and tomorrow, bringing up the 3 or more inches of snow and brisk winds to the area with a high temperature just in the middle 30's. It's going to be brutal out there. There was some talk on the stage today the bad weather might spur the bite some. Watch for some interesting video and images tomorrow morning about the time your get you first cup of coffee.
