I know it was a really late spring and summer is finally getting here but I want to talk fall for a bit. I do pretty well on the deep Canadian Shield lakes in June, July, and August. I usually don't catch many walleyes per day but manage to dabble in a respectable number of 28-31" fish each summer. In June I can find some big females in the right bays, July & August I fish rock piles. With a young family I won't be investing my time in bow hunting for a few years but should have the time for a fall fishing trip or two. I have heard and read about the great walleye fishing in the fall but don't know where to start. I'm assuming Oct walleyes can be at found anywhere from 5-50 ft but what kinds of structure should I be fishing? Can I still find fish on mid lake rock piles? Should I fish pinch points between islands? Should I look to shoreline structure? Any and all input is much appreciated.
