| The SWC would like to thank all the anglers that fished our 7th annual Battle On The Bay out of Oconto this last weekend. The weather was outstanding though some teams wished there was a little more wind.
Despite word spreading around before the event how bad the bite was, you would be hard pressed to tell that by the limits and size of fish coming to the scales.
I don't have all the exact numbers as our secretary Bob is pre-fishing the NTC, but there were many three fish limits with most of the teams saying they caught well more.
The big fish was over 8+ pounds with I think two over eight and probably like ten over 7 pounds and plenty of five's and six's, despite the boundaries imposed!
We in the SWC are proud to host this tournament which show cases the best anglers on Green Bay and love it when they show what can be caught whether there are boundaries or a tough bite or weather issues or whatever. The best anglers always seem to come through!
And in the top six, two of the teams never fished a tournament before! I warned them about the addiction that will follow but they didn't seem to care!
The SWC would like to thank the Oconto Sportsman's Club who had food available to the anglers and provided the tents and release boats. And thanks to the City of Oconto for so graciously hosting us every year!
Most importantly, thanks again to all 33 anglers that fished it and those that have fished with us in every Battle On The Bay from the beginning. We truly appreciate it as all the funds raised from this event the SWC uses for numerous fishing related donations and support.
And we hope that those of you that didn't fish it this year or have never fished it consider joining us next year for all the fun at the 8th Battle On The Bay!
