Who here uses newsreaders or aggregators??

If you do, feel free to add our news feed, the address can be accessed by clicking on the XML icon on the front of the site. This feed currently provides only walleye tournament news and articles. More feeds will be available soon.

Alternatively, it is also available as a "Klip". If you haven't used Klipfolio, it is a really cool news aggregator. Klick on the "Klip" icon on the front of the site; its a free download and you will get instant desktop alerts of our news and article additions.

You can add ESPN feeds to it as well as anything else you desire.

Never heard of a newsreader or aggregater. Went to these sites you've highlighted and it was hard to follow.

Just what does this do on my computer? This stuff takes me about a 100 trys before it sinks through my thick skull.

I'll post KlipFOLIO instructions here as an example.

1. Go to this link and click "start download"

http://www.serence.com/site.php?action=ser_products,prod_klipfolio

This will download the small program called KlipFolio, a newsfeed reader. Once it is downloaded, install it. By default it will install a few newsfeeds, each represented in its own box. You can right click on the boxes you don't want and select "delete klip"

2. Next, go to http://www.klipfarm.com/farm.php?page=info&klip=2107 and click the link that says "Add this Clip". This will add the WalleyeFIRST newsfeed to KlipFolio.

3. Every time a news article is added to WalleyeFIRST it will appear in the small box. Click on the article headline and you will be taken to the article on WalleyeFIRST.

4. To minimize the program to your system tray, click the dot between the ? and the x. To open the reader back up, click the star in your system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

To add other feeds, go to http://www.klipfarm.com/farm.php?page=dir_home and browse the categories to add other feeds. I have ESPN, Weather, WalleyeFIRST, Space.com, and DPreview.com feeds running on mine. It will really be nice for tournament season. It basically allows you to aggregate alot of news of your choosing in one place. You get a subtle desktop alert when news is added to any of your feeds.

KlipFolio is just one of many different news readers out there, everyone has their own preference. This is really useful for people at work, you can just look at the small app for news and tournament updates, instead of having to launch a browser. I added a screenshot of my desktop to show you what it looks like in the lower right hand corner of the monitor.
