Hello

On the shore of the Wolf River just down stream of the Village of Fremont rests Fort Fremont Marine. They are the host of the 14th Annual "Walleye Classic".

The 2014 event is scheduled for April 19-2014. This years event will have a 75 boat max of two person teams. The event will be a $50.00 per team event.

Preferred entries will arrive in mid January. If you fished the event last year, you are a preferred entry. We will then have open enrollment for the spots left. This is a family friendly event. Perfect time to fish with that parent, child or old friend. Good times will be had by all.

The event is sponsored by Mercury Marine, Tuffy Boats, Sheboygan Walleye Club, Glacier sporting goods online and Fort Fremont Marine.

Entries are coming in at a steady pace. 2 weeks left for the early birds. Open enrollment will start February 10th. Just for a sneek peek? We will be at and probably over a 100% payback on this event.

February 9th will end the preferential registration for the returning teams that fished in 2013. February 13th will start the open enrollment. The early returns are strong so far. There should be openings for 10 or more teams starting the 13th. If you would like to print off the rules and entry form you will find them attached here.

Thanks

Just a heads up to returning teams from the 2013 event. Preferred entries need to be in my hands by the end of business on February 11th either by mail or hand delivered. After that you no longer get in the early bird drawings.

Starting at 9am on February 13th Open enrollment of new teams will start. I have some that have mailed them in already. If you would like to ensure you get In I would print and mail the entry form now so you are in the pile for the 13th. You will be first.

The early birds also had a crack at a oil special I have for teams. If there is oil left, I will offer it to any team signing up for the event. Its worth your time.

Thanks everyone for signing up early and I will have a list posted at the end of next week.

As of right now there are 17 spots left in the event. It is Saturday the 19th and by the looks of fish racing up the river, the bite should be steller by the 19th with drop back fish everywhere. Get in while the getting still available. 50 bucks a team.

e-mail me at [email protected] for any needed info or visit www.fortfremont.com and see the events page for other info.

Thanks

I just checked on it. It is a emergency slow no wake that is in effect for the Waupaca county waters from new London down stream to the county line just south of Fremont. The slow no wake is enforced in regular zones as well as with in 500 ft of a permanant dwelling.

I called the Town of wolf river in Winnebago and they have enacted the same deal to the river mouth.

Remember it is not all slow no wake, just when you are within 500 feet of a permanant dwelling.

We sent out 73 boats this morning into 40 degree weather. They were anxious because some of the teams are on big fish. The weigh in starts at 1pm. It will not be telecasted this year. Come on out and watch. We will have free brats and a family friendly atmosphere.
