Big Fish - Great Venue!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Published March 7th 2014

AIM and Oconto, WI Launch Third Annual Pro Team Challenge!

Anglers Insight Marketing LLC (AIM™) is pleased to announce the AIM Pro Walleye Series will return this summer to the port city of Oconto, WI to do battle with giant walleyes on the Bay of Green. It was an easy decision to revisit the fisherman friendly City of Oconto. With its Breakwater Park & Harbor facilities in close proximity to some of the best walleye fishing in the Great Lakes, anglers can plan for another action-filled and exciting event that will take place on July 24 - 26th.

City of Oconto representatives were eager to support the return of the AIM Pro Team Challenge to Oconto. “Oconto is once again extremely excited to be hosting an AIM Pro Walleye Series tournament in 2014”, said Sara Perrizo, City Administrator. “We enjoy working with the AIM organization and look forward to the opportunity to showcase our premier Oconto Harbor facility along with world-class walleye fishing. We can't wait to show the world all that Oconto has to offer!"

The City Oconto has made major facility enhancements over the last few years that truly make it a favorite destination of the angling community. AIM’s Presenting Sponsors Yamaha Motor Corp. and Warrior Boats share in this sentiment. “We look forward to another great tournament on the beautiful waters of Lake Michigan,” said David Ittner, Tournament and Pro Staff Manager for Yamaha Motor Corp., “and I’m excited that we’ll be back in Oconto. Their love of fishing and support makes this a very special event, not to mention the food and great hospitality!” Kent Anderson, National Sales Manager of Warrior Boats, had this to say “I’ve fished the AIM tournament the last few years and can't wait to get back for some more "Oconto Walleye Madness!” Warrior Boats will be hosting a Ride & Drive event on Friday and Saturday to add to the festivities.

The Oconto event will feature AIM’s Pro Team Challenge format (Pro-Pro-Co) where Pro Team partners will fish with a different Co-Angler on each tournament day. “Big water tournaments are hectic and unpredictable. Having a couple extra hands on deck helps out a lot, and this format provides co-anglers a chance to be part of a great team fishing experience” said Joshua Blosser, pro partner and brother of Yamaha/Skeeter pro Robert Blosser. “The competition is second to none, and it’s been a blast competing with my brother.”

All AIM events utilize the Catch-Record-Release (CRR) system and the Pro Teams at Oconto will fish hard to catch and record the biggest walleyes in the Bay. Since no fish are kept, this unique and exciting tournament format allows AIM to hold highly competitive events on waters like the Bay of Green Bay without regard to state culling restrictions or slot limits. “The AIM Oconto tournament is becoming one of my all time favorite tournament destinations and one I look forward to every year” said Nitro/Mercury pro Gary Parsons, winner of the 2013 event. Along with his Pro Partner Chris Hansen, he was able to boat impressive 50 pound limits two out of three days in 2013. The defending champions are looking for a repeat against some stiff competition in 2014. “Huge fish are to be had, and the competition is great, with most of the best anglers on Green Bay competing. I'm sure this year, there will be many anglers shooting for the title, but I'm hoping that there is a repeat in the cards for Chris and myself!”

All the elements are in place for another incredible event at Oconto this summer. Pro Team entry fees are $1200 per team with 100% payback of paid team entries. Co-Angler entry fees are $300. Registration and more information is available at www.aimfishing.com
