Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | Next Saturday at 10:00 A.M. the Paynes Point Hook and Spear Club will be plowing roads and putting a tree line out from our landing on County A south of Neenah. We'll also be putting a bridge over the crack about 1/2 mile from shore. If you want to pitch in and help or are just curious as to how the bridges are put out feel free to stop by. Test drilling yesterday found ice thickness to be 14-18 inches. A $12.00 membership entitles you to access at our ramp and free assistance if you break down or get stuck on the lake. Mother nature finally provided safe ice for us to drive on with our plows. Dale Frank

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Dale, I'd like to help with the bridges but can't yet commit; I'll know more about my schedule later this week. However, I am very interested in a membership, can you provide some contact information? A phone number and/or an address. Thank you to club members for their efforts in providing access opportunities.

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | We'll be putting the bridges out on Fri. morning instead of Sat. That way everything will be ready for the tree line on Sat. Memberships are available at the clubhouse or Paynes Point Bar. $12.00 or $10.00 for seniors. This also includes a newsleter, free fish boil in August, and a year long fishing contest. The clubhouse also has 1.00 beer and .50 soda. Just to let you know, we're a non profit club and make donations to area volunteer fire dept. for rescue gear and other equipment that is sometimes outside of their budget. We are also in the process of establishing a scholorship program for students wishing to pursue careers in outdoor related fields. We also have donated for the sturgeon spawning areas along the Wolf River in the Shiocton area. Thanks for your interest. Hope to see you Sat.

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Thanks Dale. I think I'll make it Saturday; help with the trees and drop a line or two afterwards. Is the start time still 10am on Saturday?

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Dale, I saw that the bridges went in today. Are you still planning on doing the road and trees tomorrow at 10am? I'll be there if you need my help. If not I'll stop by and then go fishing.

Sorry for repeating the post. Something happened to my puter and I can't log on. Yep the bridge is out and the road is plowed. LOTS of ice. The trees go out this morning at 10. If you stop by to help we'll have refreshments and lively conversation.

New User Posts: 2 Location: Edgefield, SC | Hey Dale Greetins' from Dixie. (It's Mike, the feller from South Carolina by the way) I was just rootin' around doing some homework on walleye, and ran across a familiar name. I plan on working on a southern chapter (though not officially recognized) of the club tomorrow. Ice conditions are poor here now, seeing as how we are hitting 70's by mid day, yet it wont stop me from packing an ice chest and giving it a shot! Had a blast with the fisheree and all involved with it. You fellers keep behavin' yerselves, and I'll talk with ya later.

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | Hi ya Mike!!! It was a lot of fun having you up here for the sturgeon season, even though it was only a couple of days. Don't worry about getting people signed up down there. Once you tell them about the bone rattling rides in the plow trucks they'll be lining up for memberships. It's great to hear from you. Get yourself up here this summer and we'll have a day of walleye fishing and then have G-Man get us out for some salmon on Michigan. Dale

New User Posts: 2 Location: Edgefield, SC | Sounds like a plan! Fortunately I took a few pictures while I was up. The whole idea of driving on the lake is a hard story for most of the folks down here to buy. Visual aids make it easier to explain. They still don't seem to understand why having your favorite beverage freeze in your moustache after you have a sip is a good thing.
