Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Just wanted to give everyone a reminder that the Sheboygan Walleye Club Ice Fishing Outing and Swap Meet is Saturday Feb. 21st at Cedar Lake Lodge. Hope to see some WalleyeFirst members out there, as I plan to have a table full of goodies to sell or swap. Brats and burgers are on the menu along with tap beer inside the lodge, along with various raffle prizes throughout the day.

Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Not sure of the fisheree hours, but I believe the swap meet starts at 7 am and lasts till 3 pm. You can call Cedar Lake Lodge for more information. I do not have any phone numbers for other contacts.

| Visited the Sheboygan Walleye Club Fisheree at Cedar Lake today, and swapped some bad-luck fishing stories with jerry. Also relieved him of most of his Thunderstick Juniors, which made the trip very worthwhile. Another exhibitor was a kindly old gentleman looking after his table filled with collectable fishing rods, reels, and baits. He very proudly displayed his reconditioned split-bamboo rods and carefully told me when and by whom each rod was made. The rod he is holding in the picture, found by clicking on the link below, was made in 1878 by Hiram Leonard. This man developed the first split-bamboo rods so many years ago. Price tag on the rod showed $2700. This older gentleman's name is Vern H. Witt of Sheboygan, and wanted me to mention that he is a buyer of collectable fishing and hunting items, and also made various kinds of lead weights for fishing. His phone number is 1-920-458-3767 should one be interested inhis services. Attachments ---------------- Dsc01148.jpg (150KB - 115 downloads) | |||

Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Yes, Rick did a good job of loading up on some original Thunderstick Junior's for his collection/tackle box. I still have about 50 in the box that I like to use up in DePere for the big prespawn fish. A great time was had by all who attended the event. Gotta thank all the members of the Sheboygan Walleye Club for their efforts with this event. I'm already looking forward to next year's derby/swap meet.
