Well that is a loaded ?.......
I use them on the bow, middle, and off the stern at differnt times.
Also two at a time every now and then.
Cleats are at the Bow and Stern, so I use a clamp on job the middle when
I need it , Alum. boat,16' Sylan back troller
What type of fishing will you be useing it for????Drifting trolling???

thanks for the advice....i to fish often at night, as i am fairly new to the sport, i have found night time to be the most peacefull and allows me to take my time learning without all the skiers and pwc to watch out for.. the sock will be used mostly slow drifting i hope...

Well then,
If you want the boat to drift sideways for drifting hook it the middle.
Or to really slow down, 2 one off the bow, one off the stern.
I even take mine upto canada when I went, used it off the rental boat when needed.
See that your in my town, where you like to fish?

To add a little to the good advice that you have already recieved. When using one sock the best tie off point will vary a little with your boats "attitude" in the water. Depending on how much wind that the bow of your boat catches (and other factors like windshield...) the optimum tie off point may be a litttle foward of center. The clamp on idea sounds pretty good. My last boat had rails so adjustment was easy. Good luck with the sock-they are a great tool to help slow down a presentation or assist with boat control.

Make sure you use a float on the line because they can get loose from ya.
Clamp may come open, it falls in the boat (because thats what I want it to do)
But the bag is out in the water.
I made mine a long time ago with the floats for swimming pool lanes, last 12 years so far.
Lasts way better than the foam ones I have seen out there.

Lakes I fish........... your list is good but there a some good ones your missing.
I night fish rivers all the time.
