Hi guys, I am buying a used lund fisherman 1750 . This will be my first big boat. It is a 1995 with a 115hp Johnson motor and trailer. It is in good shape and the guy hardly used it. The guy is asking $11 000 canadian for it. Is that a good price? And was there any problems with the 1995 Johnson motors.

1995 Johnsons were very good. Especially the "FastStrike".
Not sure which boat that is, because Canada has some different models thann we do in the US. However, we sold quite a few 1995 Lund 1700 Fisherman boats with Johnson 115s. They were very poplular. (Different boats than the current 1700 Fisherman).

I had purchased a brand new 1995 Johnson Oceanrunner. Excellent motor!

Matt,

Three years ago I bought a used 1995 Lund 1750 Tyee with a Merc 135 on it for $14,000. I think you're in the ball park for the price. Can't contribute with the motor question, but I haven't had any problems with the boat itself, other than an accident the previous owner had and never disclosed when asked. Just take a good look at the rivets.

Dave.

I think the price is about right. The motor is a good one. Take a look at the lower unit and inspect for any signs that it may have hit anything. It can tell you a lot about how the thing was treated. Pull the hood off too and see how clean it looks.

thanks everyone for the info. The boat is still in winter storage but going to look at it at the end of the month or so. There is about 4 feet of ice on the lakes here and there is still a lot of snow so it isn't boating season yet.
