Location: oshkosh, WI | I am interested in buying a 24v 55lb thrust navigator trolling motor instead of putting a kicker on my 17' Lund with a 90 4 stroke. Just wondering if anyone has one and what their opinion is on it for trolling the mud and for pulling harnesses. Also I would like to know how easy is the instalation of it is. thanks. |

| I've been trolling with my Minnkota Autopilot since 1995 on my 18' Pro V. I upgraded from a 12 volt 42# system to a 65# 24 volt system 3 years ago which now gets 7-8 hours rather than 3-4 hours per outing. Great system all the time but especially effective when out by yourself. Reduce your speed and the bow mount steers while you net the fish. I have three friends that have converted to this system for trolling after fishing in my boat. The cons are having to speed troll with the big motor and having a very slow trip in should you have engine problems. |

| I run the 65#autopilot it works great for that.The only problem I see is when fishing big water what do you do if your big motor breaks.I like to have the peice of mind to know I have another way off the lake.I have had it happen twice both times it was electrical problems on new motors,and had to use my kicker to get off the water. Good luck in what ever you decide. |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I have been using one on my boats for the past five years and it will be the first thing I install on the new boat. It is great for trolling harnesses and slow trolling cranks. It is not made to troll at 2 mph all day, but it is harder to troll slower than faster and with this you can. Good Luck, Doug |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I have 2 bigger deep cell, 29 series. I use it mainly for slow trolling, shallow water, night time. I can usually get all day when I'm trolling 1-1.5 mph. It all depends on the wind. It is great for getting the lines in, no time lost. Even if I am fishing with my 9.9 bigfoot I use the Navugatot to set lines. It is one of the few things that actually puts fish in the boat. Good Luck, Doug

Didn't you do a show on the Navigator last year on your TV show? Are youplanning to
do another? ALso when does your show run?

Location: Green Bay, WI | Yes, we did a couple of shows with our navigator. Matter of fact we were trolling with the Navigator on Friday when we caught the new world record splake on 12 pound test, 15.58 pound. The show is running right now on Fox Sports North and is on at noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hopefully we will be rigging our new boats with them next week. Doug
