Member Posts: 183 Location: Menasha, Wis. | I need to replace some pads on the Offshore boards. Have not seen replacements kits at Fleet Farm or Ganders. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places. Does anyone know where to purchase the pads? Happy fishing to all ![]()

Member Posts: 744 | I don't know if you can purchase just the pads. I have been looking also, but I think you have to buy the whole clip.

Member Posts: 33 Location: Plymouth WI | They have the large pads at the Sheboygan Gander store. I would think they could special order some for you. Being new to trolling does anyone have any tips for getting fireline to hold in the yellow clips?

Member Posts: 168 | Cheesehead, I double wrap mine and have not had any fall off. I do it even with regular mono; I just don't like chasing and losing boards. Fishing is already too expensive. Once you learn how to un-clip the double wrap, they come off real easy. Hope this helps. Chris

Member Posts: 389 | As the previous post stated, you can visit Off Shore's website, or call them direct at 989-738-5600. Jeannie will be able to help you order whatever pads you need. Just tell her which releases you are using. I don't recommend double wrapping the line around the releases, but instead, recommend using the right release for your presentation and line preference. Double wrapping just adds to the line failure factor in my opinion. Something I'm not willing to risk. But hey, that's just me. ![]() Juls

Member Posts: 377 Location: Neenah Wi | I double wrapped too but after awhile got tired of new people coming with and not wrapping them.So I got the snapper releases and it is much easier then double wrapping and you will not lose a board.Or as Juls said weaken your line.

I have some red clips that need new pads. If I can find replacement pads, can someone describe the process for removing the old and attaching the new? i.e., best way to remove old, glue? for new? Thanks.

Member Posts: 389 | I'm sure there is a better way, but all we ever do is use a knife to pop the old pads out (little scraping to get old glue out needed), and use super glue to put the new ones in. It's not fancy, but it works. ![]() Juls

Member Posts: 183 Location: Menasha, Wis. | I called Tews. They are out of the replacement pads right now. They will order some more and should have them in stock by the end of next week. Happy fishing to all ![]()

Member Posts: 617 Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Why mess around with the pads when you can spend a few dollars more and get the snapper release?

Member Posts: 389 | In this case, he already has the releases, and just wants to know where to get replacement pads. I prefer the Snapper too, but that's not the topic at this time. ![]() Juls

Member Posts: 1406 | Buy the Roach boards and you won't ever have to worry about doing anything to the releases except maybe tightening a screw! Good Luck Tyee
