Fished pool 8 Tues afternoon and found the fish to still be on a feeding binge. It has been an incredible year for eyes on the river. You are very rarely catching a non legal or non target fish. The eyes have taken over!. Stuck with my favorite presentation of casting cranks to any rock and current related structure, whether it be wing dams or those hidden rock piles. Fish showed no preferance in color. Ended with 13 legals in 3 hours with the biggest a beautiful golden 25 incher. Remember Catch and Release! Bear

Member Posts: 200 Location: Lake City MN | Hey Troy, how you been. Good to hear that the bite is going strong down in your neck of the woods too, what a year. The past couple of weeks I have been almost exclusivly fishing smallies with the flyrods and been haveing a absolute riot. Last Sat I had one of the best mornings that I have had in a long time, pig after pig. In a couple of weeks the Z man and I are hauling the old jon north and you know what that means, have not been there since our last trip and man am I pumped. Lets get out one of these first weekends. I am surviving the summer. Yeah the bite has been incredible this year. I haven't even had to resort to fishing smallies this year. I bet you are pumped about that trip up north. That was awesome. I have chase toothy critters a few times and have gotten a few but no pigs, yet.. I will have to try to work something out so we can get out. This driving thing will still be a problem until Oct. though. Later, Bear

Member Posts: 105 | Fish were on last night. Casting and trolling wingdams did the trick. Biggest last nigh was a 5.7lb fish but had several others in the 3-4lb range along with 6-8 20" fish. Nice night for fishing with the exception of the local TUNA BOATS running up the channel, but that is expected. Lots of nice fish brought in at the ACE tourney last night as well. 6.1 lb won for big fish, but it seamed like everyone fishing walleye had a 4-5lb fish they weighed in. Notice that the smaller 3-4lb fish seemed to packing on a little weight as compared to the last few weeks. Seemed a little chunker than what I have been seeing. Gonna have to get out Friday again.
