Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is a charge to the recreational boaters for the raising of the bridges in town? The reason I ask is because I have seen a lot of boats that have a high antenna. Instead of lowering it, they get the bridge to raise. This backs up traffic and is wear and tear on the bridges which I am sure gets paid for by our taxes. Just curious what you all think.

Just an observation Rich, but, If we attack others that are also in the boating fraternaty it would be called fighting amoungst ourselves, and leave us open for attack from organized anti's that want to take away our right to the water ways. There is a very small amount of bridge openings for 2 or 3 months. Lets just let it drop here before some one else gets ahold of it and starts something that could cost us all even more money. Thanks

I appreciate your point of view but I think "attack" is a bit harsh. You did sum up my worries better than me though. I just can't help but think what is going on in the minds of the people on the bridge. They can see just as well as us on the water. It just bugs me how people take advantage of privileges and ruin it for everyone. Just venting I guess.

Rich, I am with you on this! Yes we all use the waterways but some of the pleasure boater just seem to go up and down the river all day. I have seen the same boat make the bridge tender open the same bridge 5 times in one day this summer all for a 15 ft. antenna that was on a rachett and he just would not lower it! Why?? Kitch
