Not exactly positive on what is in store down here, but nevermind another day will come and the sun will shine again. Speaking of which here are some photos from Sunshine Skyway South Fishing pier. Enjoy ... and yes I only hooked into baitfish ;) Attachments ---------------- DSCN2141.jpg (34KB - 95 downloads) DSCN2143.jpg (35KB - 87 downloads) DSCN2144.jpg (17KB - 85 downloads) DSCN2145.jpg (21KB - 84 downloads) DSCN2147.jpg (27KB - 81 downloads) DSCN2148.jpg (35KB - 72 downloads) DSCN2149.jpg (24KB - 73 downloads) DSCN2150.jpg (25KB - 92 downloads) DSCN2151.jpg (24KB - 87 downloads)

Member Posts: 714 | Say, those black and white stripped fish in the bucket are "Sheepshead" (salt water version) and are great to eat. Very sweet flavored. Talk about hard mouths! Those things crush anything from crabs to oysters when they eat, and put up a great fight. When I was growing up in S.C. we would catch them up to 10-12 pounds.

Location: Rhinelander | A couple years back Sue and I fished a Florida pier and caught a bunch of Blue Runners. Everyone on the pier said to use them as shark bait, but the book I had to identify the saltwater fish said they were 'moderately' good eating. We filleted them, fryed them, and they were great! Fought like crazy, too.

You can fillet and freeze some fresh Grouper and mail it up to me I had a friend in college who worked in the meat department at a local grocery store. We would special order Grouper and have it flown in. mmmmmmm I can taste Grouper sandwichs.
