| Can any of you give me a couple of ideas for fishing walleye/sauger tournaments in Illinois this year?
I thought there was a GNWC circuit, but I did not see one on their website. Besides them what other circuits are in Illinois that provide a well run event?

Location: Northern Illinois | Bob Kidd runs an outstanding circuit named Illinois Walleye Trail. Also goes by the name PrairieLand Eyes. He runs a fall/spring circuit, all on the Illinois River, so you fish the river at it's best, and can still do the traditional spring/summer tournaments. The url for PrairieLand is http://www.prairielandeyes.com/.
The GNWC no longer has an Illinois presence. You can fish GNWC in other states with no problem. Call Bernie or email him. He monitors the GNWC web site pretty closely.
The Fox Chain of Lakes used to hold tournaments on the Chain. That organization is up for sale so they have not yet announced if there will be a 2005 season.

Location: DeKalb, Illinois | I second that the Illinois Walleye Trail is a great state circuit, and is fun to fish. Bob Kidd and his crew run a great tournament and there is some good competition. Entry fees are 140.00 with an optional 10.00 big fish per team. Check out www.prairielandeyes.com for tournament entry forms, schedule and information. There will be a two day April tournament due to the river being flooded during December. There are usually between 50 and 70 boats during the spring events, and I reccomend signing up early. I believe the march tourney is a week before the MWC in Spring Valley. Good Luck and We'll see you on the water.
