| Since I plan on buying a few Crankbaits in the near future, I thought I would ask if anyone wants to tell their favorite baits to use on Winnebago.
I see the Shad Raps are used a lot out there, but the colors used are not mentioned much. The deep diving lip seems to be the ones to buy, at least by my reading the posts, anyway. I have a few Wally Divers, Kaboom Shiners,
and a couple Reef Runners, and the rest are the old time stuff: Flatfish, a few harnesses, floating rapalas, and the like. If YOU were sending me to get what I should try; what would YOU pick out for me? I am thinking I will get a couple of # 7 Shadraps, but don't know which colors to start with.
And what Other crankbaits do you use a lot? What colors?
Thanks,

| My best ShadRap colors year in and out are:
1: #5 ShadRap Firetiger
2: #5 ShadRap Clown
3: #5 ShadRap Perch
Same colors in #7, too.

| If you are planning on Long Linning the reefs over 8 feet (that's where I always fish) # 7 Shads in Perch, then Silver/Black have been my best baits for the last 5 years on the west shore. If you are planning on troling in the mud, My best bait is still Perch in a #5 Shad closely followed by black/silver.
I have 400-500 diving baits in my boat and I always catch fish on these. |
