Location: OSHKOSH, WI | I own a 98 Slyvan Viper 180 and my captains chair is junk. Actually the chair isn't junk the bracket that attaches the seat base is junk. Two screws are stripped out so everytime I lean back or a wave hits the boat and pushes me back the two screws in front fall out. The back screws appear in good shape yet. Anybody have any solutions for this problem. Gotta love used boats that when bought seem flawless and a few months later little things all of a sudden pop up. Thanks Bob |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Flyman, if the base of the seat is wood, then just take the other two screws out and rotate the base 45 degrees and re-anchor all four screws. Hope this helps. |

| I will take a closer look at things tonight and see if I can fish it. I believe the base of the chair is wood, but that is secured to a plastic bracket which the plasitc bracket actually is stripped out. Might be able to rotate the chair on the plasitc bracket, otherwise it is rigging time. Thanks for your suggestions. |

Location: OSHKOSH, WI | Well this morning I took the plate off the bracket. There is a plastic piece that is screwed into the bottom of the seat and appears to have many places to bolt in different sizes of brackets. For the time meaning I was able to find 2 new holes for the front screws, but have no holes for the back screws to go into. I will make do for now and probably have to rig something over the winter to make it work. Bob |
