Member Posts: 157 Location: YouTube.com/LyubakaVideo Instagram @LyubakaVideo | Awful cold and windy last night - for us the anglers, but MarbleEyes felt in their prime! ![]() Except for this dandy on a 1 1/2" yellow twistertail and 1/64oz purple jighead with a leading 1/16oz splitshot all the rest of my eyes were flyrod game. ![]() ![]() ![]() That is the action site as expected rapids clash with reverse current in 3-4 fow and the current break is where the eyes dashed for the pray - a tiny pearl silicone tail rigged on 1/100 oz lime jighead w/ Mustad hook. 4#test leader and floating 5wt flyline. ![]() ![]() My buddy with his only keeper of the night after he had a 30 fish+ night on Tuesday using minnows - it was just unbarable to have him conform to the plastics strategy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I was jumping around happy with my discovery of how to keep the bait presented in the strikezone longest with the option to actually recast in these fierc conditions... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well I can proudly say I landed my first solid limit of Walleyes on a flyrod! Hip-Hip-Hooray! ![]() Total weight 4.780kg~10.516lbs decent weigh in heh? Edited by Lyubaka 11/10/2005 11:16 AM

I actually made it back there tonight. ![]() Back for some action 1510~1915 Got the arsenal organized before the kick off: ![]() ![]() ![]() first Walley hooked 1550 @14 3/4" it went swimming quite fast . ![]() Got my first 17" Sauger on the flyrod at 1605 oh happy day! ![]() Tied in some white bass and 10 inch eyes for a while until it got dark and then started missing some quality fish both on the flyrod and on the spinning set up with a short yellow twistertail. ![]() ![]() ![]() Lost a dandy fish in the rapids did not get a chance to see it shook me off in the deep... Beautiful day fishing got to get some winter gear it is getting cooolllllllllld!

Member Posts: 157 Location: YouTube.com/LyubakaVideo Instagram @LyubakaVideo | Today I did decent but the weather was ok at first but turned quite miserable towards the end of the trip. Started off with a jumping up and down marathon from 1000 till 1400 at lake Columbia the dinky catfish drove me nuts culd not set the rod down and when I did set the hook they were not there :(... ![]() It was a pleasant surprise there was hardly any wind this morning considering this area is quite hellish with winds due to the sharp temperature difference. ![]() Started off with this Bass taken on a fathead, released - it was interesting to see a well-fed Bass they are usually quite slim out of Columbia... The Bluegills among the rocks at shore were going bonkers dashing at everithing that hits the surface. ![]() Catfish were all dinks with dosens in the 7" range ... Had enough of pointless running so I went back where the roaring waters are calling me every night... Made it to the river about 1500 and fished until 1830. Carrying heavy minnow buckets downhill has always been on the top of my wishlist... Initially there was hardly any action with a few missed takes in the end of the drift and then I landed the first keeper: ![]() A healthy 16"-er on the flyrod fun-fun-fun! Well let the games begin! ![]() ![]() ![]() Well Eelpout was not taken on the flyrod but rather on a bottom rig with a fathead. Did not take pix of all the babyeyes that got lured to take the jig. The last fish of the day just made it all worthwhile! ![]() My Largest Walleye to date taken on a flyrod 22" healthy ?female?... ![]() Well, I had to take a few more shots before I let her (!?) go. ![]() Well I did enough freezin'-for-a-reason today. Member Posts: 157 Location: YouTube.com/LyubakaVideo Instagram @LyubakaVideo | Got back to the river tonight 1650-1750 and got to have some fun with the clear water drifts. Second cast got me the first Walleye @ 16.5" and it took another 15-20mins for the other 15.5" to strike I tried a minnow immitation wet-fly with no success it seems the only productive pattern stays the pearl silicone tail... It was fun, but I wish I did not have to go to work after that.

Location: Rhinelander | Great reports, sir, and good pictures too. Do you ice fish, or stay to open river waters most of the Winter?
