I presentlyhave an X91 on the front of my boat and and X87 on the dash. I would like to change out one of the units to a color graph and can't figure out which Lowrance model to go to. I use a hand held GPS and that works fine for me. The lakes I fish are mainly mud bottoms and the structure that hold the walleye is mainly slight breaks in depth. Which units will show the fish the best under these consditions. I'm new to this board so this has probably been ask before but any advice would be appreciated

If you're looking for just a locator without GPS, I'd go with the x102. If you want the GPS/Sonar combination, try the Lowrance LMS-332c. Both of these units are color and will give you the definition and resolution you're looking for. Good luck.

I put a 332C on my dash this year and loved it for the price.

Gunner,

I set up my new rig last spring with a Lowrance 102 color and a Lowrance 3500 mapping unit. I really enjoy the smaller overall profile of the 2 units. The screens are the perfect size to mount 2 units without taking up too much space on your dash. Both units have excellent visibility in both bright sunlight and at night... I fished quite a bit this year in water less than 10 feet with heavy weed cover and mud/rock bottom. The seperation and detail was great. I also fished the same area with my brother who has a black and white Lowrance and there was a huge difference in seeing and catching fish... I would never go back to a black and white unit again. I honestly think the color unit helped me catch a lot more fish this year on the Bay of Green Bay, Winnebago and Bay De Noc.

Thanks Purple SKeeter, I have heard more than once that the 102 may be theunit I need. I currently have both black and white and the detail isn't what I think it should be. COurse there are so many settings that you can do that might make a difference but I don'thave a college degree in Lowrance settings. Thanks again

The other option instead of buying 2 - 102's is to buy one 110 with larger screen. Obviously you need to decide the + and - for yourself.

Compare cost of the two units vs cost of one.

Compare screen size of two units vs having a split screen on one big unit.

Compare detail and other options of 102 vs 110.

Both options are good. Just more food for thought.

Gunner,

If you have any questions regarding the adjustments to make for you Lowrance please email me and I'll be happy to help you out. The units are actually very easy to use once you get used to hitting the right buttons. My email is [email protected] Good luck.

Thanks for the offer Jerry. I may just do that. We are a little ways off from getting the boat back in the water but it won't be long. I think I might keep the one black and white unit on the front of the boat and change out the one on the dash so I'm sure I'll need some pointers.

Does the LMS-332c have the same sonar performance as the 102c?
I am about to pull the trigger.

Yes, both the LMS-332c and the X-102c are color locators with 5" screens, 2400 watts peak-to-peak power and 480v X 480h pixel count. The LMS-332c has the added WAAS/GPS and mapping capabilities.

Should you pull the trigger.....I say SHOOT!!!

Hey Purple Skeeter, I have that exact same set-up. The funny thing is I have that exact same plot trail on my Globalmap from last year. Maybe we are twins seperated at birth?!
