You can only network units that have the blue connectors.Your x15 wont be able to be backboned.

You can connect these units together through the NMEA-183 data cables. If you have the GPS module connected to the 111, connect the transmit wires of the 111 to the receive wires on the X-15, and you'll be set.

You could put an x-19 or a 104c on your boat and link with these units. There is a 104c in the classifieds. If you want to stay black and white, but have 2 units slaved together, i have an x-15 and a 4000 that i just posted on the classifieds.

e-mail to [email protected] for details.

So what benefit would I get from networking my 3500c Global Map and my 102 to each other if they are mounted next to each other?

You cannot connect 2 X-15's to one GPS puck. You can connect your second X-15 to the first as I described, and transmit the GPS info to it.

I think if you connect your 3500 to your 102 over the NMEA 1983 intrface, you would be able to display GPS info on the 102. Like Ground speed, time, Long/Lat. I'd have to look in the 102 manual, so don't take me at 100% on this one.

Frey,

Here is some info for you. Connect the GPS to one unit as normal.

Basically, you connect the receive wire from one unit, to the transmit wire of the other. Comm1 has both transmit and receive, so you would connect the yellow of X15 #1 to the orange wire on X-15 #2. Then connect the orange wire of X15 #1 to the yellow wire of X15 #2. Tie the shields together.

Then, get into system setup, and enter the communication setup. Turn on NMEA input and NMEA output on Com port 1. Check to make sure the NMEA configuration screen has all the items checked. Set the baud rate to 9600. Do this on BOTH X-15's. That should be it.

I have attached a couple pics to illustrate. Good luck.

Looked in the manual for the 102, and the NMEA 183 is not functional. Looks like you won't get any info from your 3500 on the bus, either. Sorry Skeeter.
