Al.

The Saginaw Bay, being considered part of Lake Huron is like 7-11, its open 24/7/365 for walleyes. And the fishing that will start up in the next week or 10 days will be among the most exciting. A few more days like today and the majority of spawning walleyes will have completed their reproductive cycles and be heading back to the bay to gorge on (The just arriving) and spawning perch, smelt and chubs. I do a lot of night fishing during this time. An hour before dark to about 11:00pm is my M.O. #14 to #18 Huskys and regular Rapalas, slow trolled .08 to 1.4.

Thanks Al.
Appreciate the invite. I Used to get over that way a lot for Steelies and Kings when I started guiding in 1984 with my drift boat on the Pere Marquette and Big Manistee. Sold the drifter and My Forestry guides license in 2001, and only do a few (prime time) fall salmon trips a year now out of my sled on the P.M. from State ramps. And thats only if the walleyes quit on the Bay in late August/early September. My brother-in-law lives between Baldwin and Scotsville, and does the night trolling thing on the Big Manistee Lake and a few other smaller lakes (that he would kill me if I told) and he does pretty good on Big fish.

I always have to do all the paddling when I'm in the back of a canoe. The guys oar in front is never long enough to reach the water with me in the back.
