Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Thanks for the support guys. Devils Lake is definitely one of the best fisheries I've ever had the good fortune to fish. 80-100 fish days are the norm with a shot at some big fish too. I suggest a visit by anyone looking for a place to go with kids.

Member Posts: 859 Location: Appleton wi | Jerry congrats on your decent finish and sounds like you guys had a blast out there . Must be alittle painfull for you and anyone else that were so close to the top ten weights and have day 3 pulled due to hostile weather.Another what "IF" could have had happen if you guys were able to fish day 3. Any recommendation on resorts/motels at devils lake that might be family orientated? Thanks

Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Yes, it's a bit painful to think about the way things went down, but I fully support the folks at FLW for their decision to cancel Day 3. The waves at the Graham Island dock were 4-6 footers, so weighing in and launching there would not have been safe. I had my chance on Day One when we lost a 4 and a 6 lb fish right at the boat. Either would have put me in the finals. Oh well, better luck next time. As for resorts, I would recommend the following: Lakeview Lodge, Spirit Water Inn, and Woodland Resort. They all do a decent job of catering to families and they are near good fishing. If you go, email me at [email protected] and I'll try to point you towards some fish.
