Member Posts: 377 Location: Neenah Wi | Well got out after a late start at 9:30 and fished until about 1:00 started just south of Oshkosh pulling harness" and got one 17" fish after about a good half hour also missed a couple and decided to turn and go back through the same area without a hit.The fish we did get was on the straight line out the back with a split shot and 120ft of line out.So we moved most of our baits up in the water and only managed to get a couple of small fish. After the last couple of days of winds the weeds were a little bothersome and we then switch to cranks and speed things up a bit.I get a little impatient turning and getting back on a spot pulling harness' At any rate the weeds were kind of a pain so we decided to call it a day after 1 pass over horseshoe reef with only 1 small fish.Seemed like the fish we missed were just closing on the bait and would hold on for a couple of seconds and they were gone.We did miss a couple of nicer hits after the board would go back hard and slowly come forward with nothing but half a crwawler left.Looks like I'll be after the perch tommorow if the wind permits. Member Posts: 215 | I got out for the afternoon bite yesterday (if thats what you want to call it) . I fished from about noon till 7pm on the east shore. Started by longlining a crank over some small rock piles with nothing. Then I decided to go look for some perch. This was not to be either as I tried 3 of my "spots" that I have caught perch in the past. Not a nibble on the straight lines over the side of the boat. Switched to trolling cranks in the 11-14 foot mark on the outside of the reefs and caught a few small walleyes. Got sick of that and went to two different reefs jigging and slip bobbering. Caught about a dozen small walleyes. Biggest being 14". Several nice smallmouth bass, a couple of the token sheeps, and a whitebass. Today...storms loom and the wind is quite brisk. So I think for today I will be cleaning up the boat nad the tackle box. Good luck to all.

Member Posts: 215 | Fished the reefs on the east shore today and found some big smallmouth bass along with several walleyes 15-19 inches. Now that the Northeast wind is blowing, that pattern will take a dump I'm sure. I did get a tagged 18" fish today. # recorded and fish released. all fish over 16 inches still swimming as well.
