Skeeter, please shoot me an email at [email protected] We have talked in the past and I want to share something with you.

Don't let the bashers get to you. There are some guys around here that aren't pros but they think they have the rights to certain information and or techniques or areas to fish.

Jon,

I respect you as a tournament angler and friend, but it sounds to me like you think Purple Skeeter should only share his information with tournament guys.
I do not know Purple personally, but I do greatly appreciate his vast input that he likes to share. I am not trying to speak for him but I think he really enjoys sharing his knowledge with anyone that is willing to learn.

I think the fact that touney people always ask him for intel and then get upset when he shares it with everyone. What I think is great is that he is willing to share his info and also listen to others to even better himself.

Again, Jon I am not trying to start something or maybe I am way off base here and if I am I humbly apologize for speaking without knowing all the facts.

Take care,

Craig, How have you been? It is nice to hear from you. I am sorry if my post sounded like he should only share info with the pros or tournament guys. That is not where I wanted that to go. I don't post much myself and need to change that, but I will help anyone that ever approaches me.

I only wanted to share some private thoughts about the negitive emails and posts he recieved, as they are probably similar to the ones I have recieved for doing some seminars and writing a few articles for an outdoor section in a paper.

I do not consider myself a pro (professional). I am however a sponsored tournament angler that fishes as a pro in some events. I do consider my self a pro (promotional) angler though. There is a bunch of this type of angler out there, and some of us try hard to act in a professional manner and then there are others that get upset with posts like Skeeter has made and feel they need to ridicule and poke fun of or even get a bit hostile and try to make a person look bad so they can feel good about themselves or so they can make themselves look good.

I hope this doesn't open a can of worms. We just need to understand that there is nothing wrong with being nice or helpful by sharing some fishing information and knowledge gained by experience or gained from others. This world is already full of enough unhappy and unfriendly people, we don't need more.

Jon,

No problem at all. I took your message in the wrong way. You have always handled yourself in a professional manner. I always enjoy talking to you and respect your comments. Like I said before I just looked at it the wrong way.

Take care and good luck at your next event.

Believe me, I get emails like that too some days. I do what makes the most sense, and ignore them entirely. My advice to Purple Skeeter, if that is the trouble, is to do just that.

If one allows negative and bullying attitudes to dictate or alter one's every day activities, then they've won, which just plain sucks.

If there is EVER a negative post like that, I sincerly hope we get about a dozen alerts immediately, if we don't catch it right away.

Not this kid. And not ever on WalleyeFIRST.

Purple Skeeter, I have all enjoyed your fishing reports. Although I haven't tried your areas of the lake I think it's great that you do people good by giving a few ideas of how the lake can be fished. I don't think it's like broadcasting on a national TV station. The people who read these posts are average fisherman that want to do a little better and some are willing to learn. There are plenty of fish in Lake Winnebago. I don't believe recreational fisherman can fish it out. Thanks for sharing with us all and spreading a little hope to the inexperienced and hopeful fishermen that read your posts, I being one of them. As for the Pros on this site, I am sure they have their own secret spots and techniques and that is part of fishing too.

Good Luck All

Skeeter

I'm sad that if you were getting e-mails from someone or a group, calling you out on giving solid info. You should'nt worry about the few that feel they should get all the info. You never gave up some secret spot, just soild info on what was going on everytime you were out. I for 1 loved the detail and soild info. People still have to get out themselfs and catch the fish! PLEASE come back and keep up the great reports, as they really do help others.

I'm fishing the FLW on Green Bay and you are welcome anytime in my boat! I love that system and have done well in the 2 events I have fished. "You can learn alot" from others on this site, sad some don't feel anyone but them should learn. Come on back Skeeter "We" or aleast most really enjoy the posts and detail!

I really miss the Crawler Reports from Purple. I learned a lot on catching crawlers. But my trip wires hooked to quarter sticks proved a little overkill.
Also Skeeter get ahold of me if you want to hit the Bay, I've got a really good bite going & it would be nice to have someone in the boat with me. I'm going out everyday this week. Pat
