Subject: Public Hearing for NR 20.40

Most of you know what Tournament Anglers are up against with the new proposals that have been placed on the table for Wisconsin's 2007 season. If you are against these proposals your voice needs to be heard. There is a public meeting/hearing which is scheduled for 7pm Wednesday evening at the Bay Beach pavilion. Please make an attempt to attend, and speak your peace. The first hearing saw 90 supporters of tournament fishing attend, but few anglers speaking on behalf of the Tournament Angler due to points already being made and fear of repeating the same points over and over. We need to repeat the points that are being made. Numbers count greatly when total public comments are being made. Please let your voice be heard and make sure to fill out an appearance slip and foramally testify to make sure that your points are recorded. If you cannot attend these meetings please email Wisconsin Natural Resources Board Chairman Gerald Obrien at [email protected] OR DNR Treaty Fisheries Coordinator Patrick J. Schmalz at [email protected]. Remember that attacks on the DNR and their desicion making or integrity does not help us gain ground. If this code passes they will ban all catch and release tournaments from July 1st to August 31st and place huge permit requirements on all other tournaments and large fee's on anglers like you and I. Slowly our rights ad fisherman have been disappearing and now more may be taken from us. Lets not let that happen and show up in full force at the next hearings.
