| For those interested, I heard on the radio while icefishing tonight that the North Shore boat launch (Escanaba River,) was reopened today! Checked it out on the way home and the gates are open. The docks are all still pulled up on the ramp - doubt that any will be put back in, but you never know. It drops off from the shore pretty quick there, so it should be easy enough to beach a boat on shore. Anyway, here's one last chance for some of you hardcore guys to troll up som Bay de Noc gold. |

| Got a call from one of the city employees today (thanks Mike,) saying that they were putting in one of the docks at the boat launch and would do something about getting the lights to come on sooner. Stopped by there after work and the dock was in and there was one rig parked. |

| While attending a board meeting of the Great Lakes Sport Fishing Club tonight, we were told that the North Shore launch will remain open until Monday, January 15th. With the current cold snap, you won't be able to get out much longer (heard the river mouth was skimmed over today.) Pretty good trolling bite from what we heard from the few people that took advantage of the late open water. |
