| Do you need a Charter/captain license to guide on the winnebago system or other inland waters?? Or do you just need a guide license??? Thanks to anyone that could help. | |||

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Charter/captain license and a state of WI guide license for the Winnebago system. It is classified as Federal Waters. Other inland lakes require only a state of WI guide license. Edited by Viking 2/19/2007 3:23 PM | ||

Member Posts: 1656 | You can get a Limited Capt. License which will let you guide on federal inland water and rivers, such as Winnebago. the Cost and time is less than the full blown "six pack". | ||

| Good question Thumper. I had to think on that one and will take a stab at it. I think a U.S.C.G. captain's license is required when you run a "boat for hire". Since you don't run a boat on ice it may mean no captain's license is needed. I would think a Wis. Guide license is still required though......jim | |||

| On the ice... No, you would not need the US Coast Guard License until your truck fell through with customers in the bed...LOL Seriously, that is probably a good "technical" question that should be run past the Coast Guard for a definitive answer.... Stranger interpretations have happened in the past... | |||

| Good Input guys! So I am assuming that is correct, I would need a limited capt. license and a wisconsin guide license to do some guiding on the winnebago system. Thanks | |||
