Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Moreyes, Picking up my 1760DW tomorrow so I am going to be spending some time doing a little rigging, I know you have the windshield model in an 1890, just wanted to see if you could post a pic on how you mounted your electronics on the console? Just kinda curious to see how you did it or whoever did it for you. Just kinda want to get an idea if possible. It would be appreciated!

Member Posts: 1382 | I guess I don't get what the Tom Backer mount is supposed to do, it just looks like a gimbal replacement? Alot of people say get one but haven't heard why yet.

Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Thanks a lot Moreyes, I appreciate it. I am so excited about this boat, I can't wait to get it totally rigged. It's really going to be a very diverse boat from early spring walleye fishing on Lake Michigan to muskie fishing, it's going to serve all my uses very well! I can't wait to get her wet! I will post pics very soon, not sure if I will before I rig it or not, it's kinda messy right now with electronic wires being run and all kinds of good stuff. Zach, I believe the biggest thing with the Tom Backer mount is that it's at a different angle than the gimbal bracket that comes with the unit. Otherwise that's the only thing I can tell might be a bit different than the stock mount.

Member Posts: 3899 | Zach, I'll post some pics of my X111 on the Backer mount tonight. It works out pretty nice, if you don't like that huge Ram for the X111.

Member Posts: 3899 | Zach, here is the Tom Backer short mount. It moves the Sonar forward just enough to clear the windscreen on the standard console. Attachments ---------------- 1890Backermount.jpg (42KB - 158 downloads)
