I may be the oblivious guy in the world... But, did the FLW Walleye League Rules about prefishing the day before the tournament change from last year. This year, the 2007 brochure states, as follows:

"4. PRETOURNAMENT PRACTICE... No contestant may be on tournament waters for the purpose of locating fish or locating potential fishing waters after 12:00p.m. (noon) on the Friday (Wednesday of Finals) of the registration and pretournament meeting except during tournament hours."

I am trying to remember where I put lasyt year's brochure so I can compare them. But, my recollection is that last year you could prefish till 3:00 or 3:30pm. I hope everybody is aware of this rule and nobody gets inadvertently caught by this rule.

Also, this is really tough on most guys... Getting the Friday off to prefish is already a tough issue for "weekend warriors". But,having that day cut to 5 hours is a real loss. Travel costs, days off from work and a loss of three hours seems unnecessary. But, I'm not in charge... Just asking if anybody else has noticed and if anybody knows the logic behind the short day. The registration doesn't start till 4:00pm. So, now you pull off the water and have a few hours to kill helping set up the stage (LOL)...

Hi Greg,

I think I recall some posts about this a few months ago. I believe that a lot of anglers called in and Sonny said that rule was not in effect for the league. That would be a crushing blow for a lot of us without a ton of vacation.

I just pulled this off the FLW website

"There will be no official practice period or off-limits period prior to the pretournament meeting. The purchasing of information or the hiring of services will not be permitted after the balance date for each tournament (August 25, 2007, for the Walleye League Finals). "

Whew... I "swear" I knew that somewhere in my cobweb infested brain... But, sitting down and reading that in the brochure really did confuse me..

EVERYBODY... FALSE ALARM... Caused by my "old timers disease".... I am burning that brochure as we speak!

SORRY to drag up old news...
