I was there and in talking with the guys it sounds like a livewell hose broke or came loose. They were trolling at the time and could not get the big motor started so they came into the harbor with their kicker. When they throttled back in the harbor, the water gushed in and the boat sank so only the bow was above water. Motors, electronocs etc were under water sitting on the bottom. Their auto inflatable life jackets were deployed so they took a dip. I was shocked to see so much of the boat under water.

The boat I saw was out in the middle of the mud between Stockbridge and Garlic. Only the trolling motor was sticking out of the water. I know they were towed in. No way that boat came in with the kicker motor! Was there more than one boat that sunk? There was a distress call over the marine radio.

That's all that was sticking out of the water the bow mount trolling motor, the zebra muscles on the big motor tell you were that was...dragging on the bottom.

It is probably the same boat. In listening to the story I was not sure exactly where it sunk, just that the kicker could not sustain enough speed to keep water from flowing in and when it bogged down, it sunk. It was sitting in the harbor at the time so I thought they made it that far. I didn't hear why the big motor wouldn't start.

I saw the boat sitting in the harbor in calumet after the stockbridge walleye tournament. It was NOT A RANGER...it was a fiberglass tracker targa and was a transom issue.

I also saw it in the Harbor , unless Tracker says Ranger on the side of the boat it was a Ranger, and My buddy was the the Guy that pulled the Two Men from the water as he watched ithe Ranger sink.

Thanks for the picture. It does look like a Ranger judging from the windshields. I almost sank my Triton twice. I feel for who's ever boat it was.

It was a Ranger owned by Jamie Friebel, who was in the FLW tournament. One of my fishing partners, Perry Prochnow towed him in. Unfortunatley, Perry ruined a prop and damaged his lower unit in the process. Luckily no one was hurt.

If that boat was Jamie's I truely feel for him. This would be the second time something bad has happened to his rigs. I am just glad that everyone is o.k.
