Am starting to look for a new boat and really considering an 1890. The question I have is how much room behind the seats until the livewell. I doesnt look like much and that it might get a little crowded running three rod holders in there. Also how does it track for trolling. Thanks in advance. | |||

Member Posts: 1991 | I only run 4 rods max when trolling, that is all we can run here with 2 people, but the room is decent to work with similar to a Ranger 619 with out the side compartments, the rear deck and splashwell give you alot of room, I typically have the rear seat mounted in the middle or out. I think you could do 3 holders per side, 2 on the rails and one inside the gunnel cap. It tracks very well when trolling. Member Posts: 3899 | Here is a link to my rigging. I'll try to get a better pic of the back tonight. I'm going for eaters on Bago with the boy. http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=8... You can see two of the three Folbe Rod Holders mounted on the rails. Plenty of room in the cockpit for two guys to run 3 rods apiece. I have since added rod holders in the front. This boat tracks great while trolling, both with the kicker, or the new Terrova Auto Pilot. When the wind is really blowing, I run a couple drift socks off the front cleats to slow me down. here's some pics for you. my seats are set over-far back since i rarely have a 3rd or 4th person fishing in the boat. my console seats could easily be 3-5" more forward and still have plenty of room for your feet and knees...thus making more room for the rear seats as well. if i was fishing with extra people often, i'd move my front seats up a bit to make room for them. you can open the livewell with the seat facing forward, even with them mounted basically as far back as possible like mine are. there's ample room on the rails for 3 rod holders, plus you can mount a down-rod holder on the back portion of the gunnel cap like i did on mine. i've also seen guys who add a rail up on the bow and run additional board rods from up there.
