lot's of heat, hazy days with calming days and storms mixed in creating warming water temps. to an average of 70' both in the upper and lower Bay.
Fishing methods;
Jigging has become more of a fun bite using 1/8 and 1/4 ounce (oranges, chartrueses, pink and blue), 6 and 8 pound XL lines and also Fireline a good choice.
Tipping with crawler pieces, leeches and again one of my favorites the "Glup" worms in the 3 inch jigging size.
Slow-trolling floater rigs and harnesses whether holding the rod or working off planer boards. The mini-boards from Church Tackle are pretty neat and we are running them off medium action spinning rods making for more fun action when catching fish!
Also casting small cranks like the jointed Shad-Raps are taking some mixed bags of walleye, northern pike and bass.
Locations;
we've been concentrating on the weeds and weedbed edges seeing the most fish, wind blown areas pushing in food attracting fish.
CHECKING STOMACH CONTENTS OF FISH THIS PAST WEEK SHOWING LOTS OF "what I call" PIN MINNOWS AND WIGGLERS. YES A FLY HATCH HAS HAPPENED BREIFLY MORE TO FOLLOW I'M SURE.
Been hearing reports on Big Bay de Noc of some catches of walleye and bass fishing being pretty good.
Keep in touch fisherman and good luck always,
Marty
Here are some photos of the past week with some of our fisherman;
