Hey guys. I got a few GPS points I want to add to my lowrance unit. Usually its one or two, so manual input ok.

Now what if I want to add 10. What type of software to I need to input GPS coordinates, write them to my SDM card and upload into my GPS? I figure key punching a keyboard is a heckuva lot easier than manually in the unit.

I have a card reader/writer so no problem there. The interface escapes me.

Its a dot.usr extension so my Mapsource cant read it.

Mark,
If you have a Lowrance unit, you can download the simulator off their web site. You can then enter the GPS coordinates in through the simulator, save them to your card and then transfer over to your unit.

It is a little tedious, since it doesn't just let you type them in (you have to enter them just like when you are using your unit), but at least you can do it at your computer.

Another option is to try some of the free ware out on the web. I think this one may be worth checking out:

Good Luck.

GDM6 is a waypoint manager for the newer Lowrance units.

Look and feel of MapCreate.

That easy gps works great. I was zooming all over that thing in like 5 minutes. I will check out that lowrance tool though

Hey M_KOMO

Where did you get the disc for dumping files to and fro.
I never researched the idea much but am thinking about saving what I have in case I get a new rig. No what I mean..

later,

Boxman

Hope the weekend was nice.
