New Records Set at Latest AIM Tournament in Green Bay
Plymouth, WI (July 21, 2010) - The AIM Pro Walleye Series tournament in Green Bay, held July 1st through 3rd, lived up to the expectations of the AIM Pro Anglers and yielded record catches of trophy walleyes.

The first milestone was the new Big Fish that was caught by Scott Allen on Day Two of the tournament. The 32.25" monster weighed 14.25 pounds, besting the previous record of 12.25 pounds. For his catch, Scott Allen received the "Me and My Catch" Big Fish award that included a certificate for a unique photo replica of the fish of his choice.

Second, the daily Big Basket weight was broken eight times during the contest. The previous record of 48.48 pounds was smashed by Perry Good with his 55.17 pound 7-fish weight on Day One, which represents a 7.9 pound average! Perry finished the tournament in 10th place and earned a $3,875 payout.

Third, the previous three-day total weight record of 102.51 pounds was broken by 21 of the AIM Pro Anglers at Green Bay! The Green Bay Champion, Robert Blosser had the top weight with 139.46 pounds - which is a 36% increase! For his 21 walleyes over the three day event, Robert averaged 6.6 pounds with the exclusive AIM Catch-Record-Release format. Robert's victory paid him $30,000 of the $99,000 total Pro Angler purse - another AIM record based on the 66 entries.

All of these weights attest to the trophy walleye fishery that Green Bay has become. Because of the AIM Catch-Record-Release format, every one of these trophy walleyes was released live, exactly where they were caught.

The tournament results also shuffled the year-to-date JJ Keller Fishing Team Angler of the Year standings. After two qualifying tournaments, Keith Kavajecz now leads the Angler of the Year race. Keith is followed closely by Robert Blosser, the Green Bay Champion, and by Jarrad Fluekiger, the Bay City Champion. Complete, up-to-date Angler of the Year standings and further information about the AIM Pro Walleye Series can be found at www.aimfishing.com. Additional information about the JJ Keller Fishing Team, which will award the $10,000 Angler of the Year award for 2010, can be found at www.jjkellerfishingteam.com.

Blosser Takes Green Bay AIM
The wind did indeed blow today out of the South West as forecast, and Green Bay kicked up accordingly. 4 of the top 5 were fishing the deeper water off the Shark Fin, using drift bags and more to keep the speed down.

Robert Blosser WINS at AIM Green Bay
Robert Blosser fished the east shore on a rock structure that features a 'spot on the spot', which produced his day three weight of 44.80, enough for the win by over 5 pounds at 139.46, collecting a check for $30,000.00. Jim Carroll took second with today's weight of 37.96 and a total weight of 134 pounds.

The Bay kicked out some very big fish this year, in stark contrast to last year's bite that was damaged by a strong North wind blowing cold water into the area. This week, the weather was prefect to set up the bite; warm and sunny with winds from the South. John Schneider had a very rough time keeping his fish pinned up, but managed to CRR 128.24 for third place. Perennial Top Ten finisher Mike Gofron weighed in 127.87 for fourth, and Jim Petersen took fifth with 127.02. This one truly was a game of ounces!

AIM Green Bay Top 13
Keith Kavajecz  took sixth, Todd Riley seventh, Pat Neu eighth, Rick Olsen ninth, Perry Good tenth, Ted Takasaki eleventh, Ryan Jirik twelfth, and Mark Martin rounded out the pros in the money at thirteenth.

Big walleyes ruled the event, coming from deep, shallow, and in between. Spinners and crawlers and trolling cranks were the winning techniques; make sure you watch the AIM Top Ten Rewind at http://www.aimfishing.com to learn the where, what, when,  and how  the top ten caught their winning walleyes.

Carroll Takes Lead at AIM Green Bay
The wind was definitely a factor on Green Bay today working seas up to over 3' out on the open water. That didn't seem to bother Jim Carroll much; he spanked 'em pretty well meeting his expectations for the day in line with his early morning interview hopes.

It looks like the wind might be a problem on Saturday. Tomorrow's  weather  promises winds to as much as 30 MPH out of the South South West, enough to be a game changer depending on when the stronger gusts begin. Jim registered 45.34 pounds today added to yesterday's 50.71 to take the lead with 96.04 pounds.

Jim Carroll continued his 2010 hot streak, moving into first just ahead of 2009 AIM Angler of the Year Champ Todd Riley with his day two weight. Jim holds first by less than 1 pound, a microscopic lead on this water. Robert Blosser, mistakenly listed as in first for a time today, is in third just a pound and a half out. Tomorrow will be a shootout....for certain.

Day one leader Perry Good holds fourth, a little over 5 pounds back despite his respectable CRR total of 38.68 today. Chad Schilling is in fifth with 92.71, just a fraction of a pound ahead of John Schneider at 92.02.

Going into the final day in seventh is Mike Gofron with 90.75. Mike is well known as being a perennial top ten finisher, and is only one Green Bay hog out of the lead.

Jim Peterson moved to eighth, Tom Gatzke to ninth, and Nate Curell rounds out the top ten. This system is famous for kicking out big fish, and considering AIM's unique CRR format that allows the Pros to keep fishing all day and register their top seven, this literally could be any of  top 10 Pro's game.

Trolling spinners seems to be the key for many, but Blosser is fishing cranks, tell AIM reporters this morning he feels very confident in the technique, and offering the opinion he's netting a larger overall average walleye on artificials.

The field was cut to 33 Pros today, one half the total original list of competitors. They will be heading out tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM, and will return at 5 PM for the virtual weigh in at Metro Park near South bay Marina. The live weigh in will begin at 5 PM, leading to the crowning of the 2010 AIM Green Bay champ, earning the winner $30,000.00.

Watch for live coverage tomorrowbeginning early tomorrow morning covering the launch at http://www.aimfishing.com.

Perry Good Leads at Green Bay
The conditions on Green Bay were absolutely perfect today for most of the pros; the proof is evident examining the top ten CRR totals, and the record catch turned in by the AIM Green Bay day one leader, Lund/Mercury Pro Perry Good. It took 46.97 to make the top ten, and just over 50# to carry a top five.

Perry Good tops the AIM leader board on day one with a seven fish limit converting to 55.17 pounds. Perry's big fish was the AIM record at 13 pounds plus and 32" in length. His 55.17 day one Green Bay weight is also an all time AIM record.

Local Pro Pat Neu is only three pounds behind at 52.02, and is confident in his bite holding tomorrow despite the winds forecast to be into the 20's out of the South West. Gary Parsons is in third with 51.69, and also is confident in his bite holding despite the increasing winds forecast for days two and three.

Jim Carroll is in fourth, continuing his hot streak with a seven fish limit converting to 50.71. Jim Petersen is in fifth with 50.64, Todd Riley in sixth with 49.11, Robert Blosser in seventh with 48.93, Tom Gatzke in eighth with 48.34, Mike Gofron in ninth with 47.31, and Tom Kemos rounds out the top ten with 46.97.

The cut to the final field of 33 on the last day Saturday, should the bite remain as it was on day one, will be about 75 pounds. The winds will definitely be a factor for the Pros, especially those who are traveling out to the North.

The majority of the fish CRR'd today were caught trolling spinners. Cranks accounted for a number of the fish as well, and the depths and structure ranged from very shallow weed edges to deep, open water pods of fish relating to clouds of baitfish.

The field of 66 will leave the docks South Bay Marina at the mouth of the Fox tomorrow at 7:30 AM. Watch for AIM's signature video coverage to begin early tomorrow morning!
