Krause and Dretske Win Final WI-UP Team Challenge
Oconto, WI - Rob Krause and Dave Dretske won the World Walleye Association WI/UP Team Challenge held August 29th on Green Bay out of Oconto.

The anglers were greeted with cold front conditions with a steady Northwest wind and a wicked chop that increased travel times for teams up to three times what normal travel times would be if it were calm.

But Krause and Dretske didnt let the weather change their plans. They headed North and across the bay to Hat Island then moved to Horseshoe Reef, a whopping run of approximately 80 miles round trip! But the journey was worth it as Krause and Dretske trolled crawler harnesses to catch a four fish limit weighing 31.76 pounds including the big fish of the tournament that weighed 10.24 pounds.

Chris and Gina Gasser placed second with a four fish limit weighing 28.15 pounds. The Gassers were fishing by Green Island trolling crawler harness.

Kurt Duxbury and Keith Ziemba placed third with a four fish limit weighing 27.54 pounds. Duxbury and Ziemba were fishing by Hat Island trolling crawler harnesses.

With the WI/UP Team Challenge division now finished, points will be tallied for all divisions and Teams of the Year will be announced shortly.

State and National awards will be awarded at the WWA National Championship at Sault Saint Marie September 9th, 10th and 11th.
