New Walleye Anglers Trail record set as Osthoff and Myhre win on the Mississippi River at Genoa
Myhre and Osthoff with their final day 9.85 pounder
Frigid temperatures did not hamper the abilities of the 44 teams that competed for over $11,130 in cash and prizes at Genoa, WI on March 12 & 13, 2005. Huge baskets of fish were brought in both days and a new Walleye Anglers Trail record of 51.45 lbs. was set by the team of Chad Ostoff of Ferryville, WI. & Chad Myhre of Stoddard, WI.

The record breaking team of Osthoff and Myhre also captured the Big Fish Award of $440 by bringing to the scale a 9.85 lb. walleye both days of the tournament.

Walleye Anglers Trail kicks off the season March 12th - 13th in Genoa WI
The Walleye Anglers Trail is traveling to Genoa, WI. for it's first season tournament of the year. The official launch site for this 2 person team event is the Power Plant boat ramp on the Mississippi River at Genoa.

Tournament Director Bill Brosnahan is expecting a strong bite and ideal conditions for the W.A.T. teams as they challenge for the coveted �Team of the Year" award and a slot at the 2006 Cabela's National Team Championship. The teams will also be competing for the Northern Battery �Charging up the field" award, the Mack's Lure �Just out of the Money" award and the Falling Rock Bait, Bar & Grill �Middle of the Channel" award.

The mandatory tournament rules meeting will be held on Friday evening, March 11, 2005 at 6:00 PM in the Genoa, WI Fire Department building on Main St. in Genoa. A complimentary dinner for the competitors is provided by the W.A.T. sponsors.

Entry is till open for the Genoa event with approx. 40 teams expected. Entries are due by March 7, 2005 to avoid a $50.00 late entry fee. Entry fee for all 2005 events are $325.00 per team that includes the big fish pot.
